The vibe is laid back, and if you like sausage and beer, this place is for you. Sundays are like Mimosas & Brunch for Dudebros. The fries are good, and they do have vegetarian options. Beer can be ordered from either the bar or the counter, but food orders are placed only through the counter that is separated from the seating area. Tables are a mix of shared space and individual tables along the walls. Pricing is fair, parking is street.
I may be slightly partial to this place..afterall it was opened by a USC alum (go trojans!)
All my dates.work events at this place have benefited from the rowdy, fun vibe..they have a solid selection of beers and an exotic selection of hot dogs...tailor-made for the adventurous!
Great Food & Bar! Belgian sausages w/ great flavors and 'snap' factor. I had the mango/jalepeno and it was tastey!! Also, nice vibe in backroom with bar and DJ.
Food is pricey for a sausage, but beer is cheep - and good selection :P

Get your necessary infusion of sausage, fries and beer here. This place celebrates the fusion of sausage philosophy from all over the world with delicious Belgian fries and traditional beers. Love it!

Been meaning to try Wurstkuche for ages and had hoped to bring a certain co-worker who has since departed for the East Coast. As advertised, exotic sausages and great beer and fries, served in a fun, well run space. My wife and I had a child-free Saturday dinner date over the Thanksgiving weekend and decided to finally drop in and check out Wurstkuche. There was a line (inside) for ordering but a staff person also came down the line and answered questions and took drink orders, distributing drinks even as people waited to place their orders. We had the Austin Blues (hot & spicy tri-pepper & hardwood smoked pork) and Duck & Bacon with Jalapeno Peppers sausages with caramelized onions and grilled sweet peppers (two topping per choice) - both flavorful and not too spicy. We split a large ("Groot") order of Belgian fries and chose Chipotle Ketchup and Bleu Cheese Walnut and Bacon dipping sauces. For drinks we passed on the somewhat intimidating draft & bottled beer ("biers") and split an Aspall English Cider - very refreshing (and 6.8 ABV)!
With cider in hand we found seats at the end of a long table (seating is communal) and enjoyed the lounge/beer hall atmosphere while waiting 10-15 minutes for our order to be brought to us. A very pleasant time - the crowd and atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the food and drink perfect.
Obviously I need to plan an office holiday outing to this place - it's a real treat.
Highly recommended to all sausage lovers including those of the vegetarian persuasion (there are 3 vegetarian and several chicken & turkey sausages). Hard to resist trying the "exotics" on offer - Buffalo, Beef & Pork with Chipotle, Rattlesnake & Rabbit with Jalapeno, Alligator & Pork, and more besides "gourmet" sausages like Filipino Marharlika and Kielbasa.

Wurstkuche is located in the Arts District in Downtown LA just south of Little Tokyo. This place is a diamond in the rough.
Although there aren't too many businesses around Wurstkuche, this place is definitely packed with people at all times.
I personally love getting the exotic Rattle Snake and Rabbit sausages, but they also have the classics such as Bratwurst, Bockwurst, and Kielbasa.
Definitely don't forget a large order of ries which comes with dipping sauces. I'd definitely recommend the Chipotle Aioli and the Curry Ketchup to start.
The best part is washing everything down with a good Belgian or German beer. I'd recommend the Delirium Nocturnum for a Belgium or the Erdinger Dunkelweizen for a German. The Aventinus and Schneider Edel Weisse are good choices as well.
Wurstkuche is not only for the hipster, but you'll find families here from time to time. But later in the evening when the DJ comes out on the MacBook to start spinning some tunes, it turns into a very cool bar / gastropub hangout.
Highly recommended!
