The most unprofessional dermatology practice I've had the misfortune to endure. The PA (he's not an MD) has the bedside manner of a robot -- very rushed and didn't care to explain results surrounding a stressful procedure.

The worst of it is that he told me he would prescribe some medication to take after my procedure and I was told by one of the staff that they would sent it to my pharmacy that day. I went to my pharmacy that night and was told they never did. I called after that day and asked again about my prescription -- they said that they would get it in that day. I called my pharmacy this time and was told they never sent it. I called the office a second time and told them what was going on and was told by the staff on the phone that she personally could see that the prescription was sent to my pharmacy. Feeling confident, I called my pharmacy just to be safe and was told that they never sent it.

This practice essentially withheld medication for me, and made the aftermath of a procedure more anxiety-inducing than it needed to be. I will be going to a higher rated dermatologist in the valley going forward.

Overall

I had an initial problem with my right forearm having an itchy patch after waking up in the middle of the night with the most horrible itching I've ever had in my life. I almost went to the hospital it was so bad. I was thankful when I phoned LVSCC that day that I was able to be seen right away and that they accepted my insurance. Upon my first visit, I saw the real doctor and I received some cream that helped. I thought I had found a good dermatologist. WRONG! A week later my LEFT arm EXPLODED with a rash that was so itchy I could barely keep from scratching my arm raw! I called back and begged for an emergency appointment. I got there and was seen by some PA rather than the doctor. I followed the PA's directions even though they weren't very clear. It was basically, "try this cream and if it doesn't work, call us." There was one cream that wasn't covered by my insurance that took my pharmacy almost a week to get. Until then, I did what the PA told me to do. I tried the creams I had. They didn't work. In fact, it got worse. I called the nurses' line I was given to call and left a message regarding the outcome of this test of creams. "NEGATIVE! It did not work! It's now worse! HELP!" Almost a week went by with no return call from their office. This whole time, my arm is red, with 'gator like' textured skin, red, raw and VERY VERY itchy. I tried everything I could to find relief with OTC products and continued to use the Rx that was written to me by the PA. I called again and left a more forceful message questioning this office's ability to treat their patients. I was scheduled the following day. When I got to the office this time, I was greeted by a PA who obviously had no interaction with patient massaging within their own office. I was berated about "what had I done differently?" after telling him that I followed his instructions to the letter: I tried the creams. I used them as explained. I phoned the office as directed after the failure of the first round of creams I was prescribed. I even tore apart my own home to find any causes to this unknown affliction. I changed detergents, soaps, and washed everything in the house. I was stunned over his bedside manner. Then to top it off, when he left with his superiority complex to write up more Rx's to throw at my issue, he walked into the main office which is clearly visible and audible to the entire waiting room and gossiped to another female staffer loud enough for me to hear through a closed door "I have a patient that didn't do anything and he expected anything to change!?" To which the female replied "FACEPALM!" I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect! I had just told the PA everything that I've been trying to do differently. I shut my mouth because I needed the treatment for my arm. If my ailment hadn't been so terrible, I would have walked out of the office and given the PA and the female staffer a piece of my mind! This round of creams, along with the one that finally came in, DID help the left arm, which is still spotted with sores and itchy as I write this. When I went back for the follow-up to the left arm, I informed the PA about the right arm acting up again even though I'm using the Rx's he prescribed. I was told to "keep the course." Well that was last Wednesday and throughout the weekend my right arm continued to get worse despite the Rx's I was given. I woke this morning at 4 am to my right arm feeling as if it were on fire and having oozing bumps from my wrist to my elbow. I've had enough of creams being thrown at me! Is this office ever going to actually DOCTOR!? Is this office ever going to find the underlying problem instead of treating symptoms!? I doubt it and if they do, my arms will have fallen off before they figure it out. I have made alternative plans to see a different dermatologist. DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE! INCOMPETANT! RUDE! UNPROFESSIONAL!
