I hate going to the dentist. Who likes to sit there, all vulnerable with their mouth wide open with people peering in (both with their eyes AND fingers) assessing how good a job you've been doing flossing and brushing? And let's be real. Who here can say, honestly, that they do everything the dentist recommends? Flossing 2x per day? Using mouthwash 2x per day? C'mon. And... then... sometimes you go through a phase of life where you decide you can skip such unpleasantries such as dental cleanings. For longer than you'll admit on a public space. Then.... predictably, you chip a tooth b/c it's weak from decay. That's what happened to me. It wasn't an emergency, but it was pretty urgent. Luckily, a friend recommended Dr. Dahler and when i called, they fit me in the next day. I was CONVINCED that I was going to need that tooth pulled and a fake one put in. Nope. Dr. Dahler and staff took a complete set of x-rays and then set about to fixing me up. They gave me plenty of numbing stuff so I didn't feel the prick of the needle (which had more blessed anaesthetic). Dr. Dahler told me that I just needed a filling to patch me up. I mean, he had to drill away some, but then gave me a choice of either white filling vs metal filling. And honestly told me that the metal was cheaper and longer lasting. They came up with a treatment plan to get me back on the road to dental health, and figured out a way for my treatment plan to be cost effective (combining services where possible, etc etc). I'm coming here now for my regular cleanings. The hygienists are friendly and efficient. You get a discount for paying with cash/check, btw. So bring your checkbook.

I have been seeing Dr. Dahler for 3 years now. I had to switch from my primary dentist due to dental insurance changes with my job, and I was panicing because I was comfortable and extremely happy with my old dentist. I got the 5280 magazine issue regarding top dentists in Denver, and Dr. Dahler was listed among them, AND his office was close to my house. I went to the office for several cleanings over the first 2 years, and I was made to feel welcomed, comfortable, and happy by the receptionist, hygienists, and the doctor himself. Dr. Dahler is young, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humor. It's not your usually stuffy, uncomfortable environment. Not long after I found Dr. Dahler, I had to have a crown put on a broken tooth. I am terrified of needles, so I begged him not to use one. Of course, he pretty much insisted that I have the pain numbing injection due to any possible discomfort that could occur during drilling, etc. When I came back for the actual procedure, he and the hygienist were prepared with my favorite music playing and all sorts of hilarious banter to keep me focused on anything but the needle. It worked, and I barely felt it. Most other dentists would simply tell you to deal with it, but I really appreciated the way they handled the situation without making me feel stupid or childish. Additionally, Dr. Dahler is excellent at cosmetic dentistry - my front teeth have a genetic defect, and he is handling it with bonding. Overall, it's really nice not to fear going to the dentist.
