They worked as a subcontractor for my elevator installer. They would not come as promised, missing their promised arrivals time after time. They actually said one time that they had “bigger jobs” to work. I missed at least 4 days of work because they had promised me they would arrive on a certain day, only for me to wait around for people that never showed. The forgot to order critical components (like doors!), or as they claimed, “the wrong doors were shipped”. Their electrician used the wrong gauge wire (smaller), even though it was clearly specified on the drawings and it had to be redone. They had several workmanship related structural issues that the elevator company discovered and had to be corrected. They delayed and delayed and then there was full panic mode at the end of the job to meet the commit date. People do not do their best work when rushed and stepping all over each other.
The biggest issue I have is with their integrity. They had to remove a downspout for my gutters and it was to be relocated, and they were supposed to install gutters on the addition. I discussed this with the project manager, I’ll call him Wyatt because that was his name, on several occasion (like more than 6). We talked about options gutters and downspout location. He even asked me how I wanted it done and I told him. Well, seven weeks later, still no gutters, and now he is claiming that gutters were never part of the job and it was my responsibility. This was never, not once, mentioned in all our discussions about the gutters, and was not listed as an exclusion in the contract. I have been texting weekly for status on the gutters and never a mention that they were not doing it – even through the contract said the work was to “match existing”. He actually said they “We took the downspout down, we weren’t putting one back up”, only this week, 7 weeks later. I can forgive many things, but I would never do business with a company that behaves so dishonorably.
