Electrocardiogram
An exercise stress test, or exercise electrocardiogram, typically is used to provide the doctor with insights as to how your heart responds to incrementally increasing levels of strenuous exertion. This type of cardiac stress test typically involves the use of a treadmill or stationary bike at exponentially increasing levels of exertion. All the while, the doctor records your heart rate, blood pressure, and other diagnostic information.

Dr. Stan graduated with a B.A. in Biology from California State University at Northridge, and then earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He went on to intern at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he also completed his residency. After successfully completing a Cardiology Fellowship at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL., Dr. Stan moved to Southern California and has been practicing medicine here ever since. He has been an active member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He holds board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine: Cardiovascular Diseases and the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.

Doppler echocardiogram – This type of test is done to examine the way in which blood flows through the heart, the heart valves, and the surrounding blood vessels. The movement of the blood reflects sound waves to a transducer. The ultrasound computer then measures the direction and speed of the blood flowing through your heart and blood vessels.
