First time doing reviews on YP. Had my handicapped brothers house rebuilt for 200,000.00 ++. I could only come to check on the progress every week or so as my brother was staying at my house and I have to care for him. The house was extremely messy and full of trash so my husband and I rented dumpsters and cleaned most of the trash out, we even ripped up the carpet. Before starcom started we did a walkthrough and I asked the president of the company if it was worth restoring he said yes. I would give the completed job 4/10 as since the job was completed we have had major problems every 6 months or so. Come to find out too late that there are certain protocols that a contractor has to go by to be considered a good honest contractor. The president of the company decided to not go that route and failed to tell us. He proceeded with the renovation taking full advantage of my families trust. Do not hire this company. The standards of this company are horrible. I will give some of the employees an A/B review as it's not their fault.
Got an email the other day from them I suspect it was an accident.
The email was asking customers to write a good review and the best review would win a $50 gift card for a restaurant. This just confirms the business ethics of this company having to bribe for good reviews. I can see on other starcom reviews that the owner has an answer for everything and many excuses. Bottom line they did come back and fix some things. But I found out too late that the owner has no ethics as far as going about things the right way. I hired this company because on their website it says they take care of everything including specifics per different counties, they did just the opposite.

Project: Remodel a Bathroom
Comments: I hired them based upon their rep. Good skills, kept me in the loop, and very comfortable to have them in the house. Their reputation is warranted. I would hire them again. This was a very good experience and they answered questions I had.

You will be very disappointed! After promises of including me in every step of the process, they made a drastic decision, with no input from me, and then told me I have to live with it. Exact words, "let's agree to disagree" on a project I spent well over $200,000 on. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Buyer BEWARE!!

For our remodeling and addition, Starcom provided very good customer service, excellent design ideas, and a well-built final project. They have been available as needed for follow up/questions after our project was completed. Though a large project, it came in on budget and on schedule. The guys at Starcome are friendly, professional, and smart. We would recommend Starcom.

Starcom is amazing! They added a sunroom to our house and it's become my favorite room to have my morning coffee. Bob Weickgenannt took our ideas and thoughts and produced a design that worked perfectly. No one can tell it was not part of the original structure. It opened up our kitchen and made the flow to the deck seamless. I would not hesitate to recommend Starcom to anyone in need of an addition or renovation. Bob, you're the best!

When we finally decided that the time had come to remodel our kitchen, we spent a month visiting area contractors discussing what we wanted, what was available and getting an idea of costs. Our search brought us back to Starcom. We were impressed with their friendly attitude and willingness to accommodate our wishes and budget.

Our meeting with designer Tim Welsh set out the preliminaries and Tim’s visit to our home further expanded the possibilities. We were unsure of just what was possible and how such an extensive modification and expansion was doable.

Tim completed two computer-generated designs complete with enhanced views along with a proposed cost listing. We narrowed down the differences and were delighted with the new look, the expanded storage and the efficient utilization of our existing space. (Actually, we were astonished!). Tim certainly incorporated all our wishes and added his own interesting touches as well as offering some things to consider. He even had the foresight to include the remodel of our Powder Room, something that we had never even thought of.

Starcom provided us with all their expertise (Scott is amazing) as well as bringing in outstanding professionals for the extensive electrical and plumbing work, granite countertops and flooring. Tim assisted us in making direct buys of the granite, lighting fixtures and flooring which certainly helped us stay within our budget.

Throughout the entire process, we weren’t just customers, we were welcomed participants.

To say we are pleased with the result is an understatement.

After researching several contractors in the area, we decided to give Starcom a try and we're glad we did. Our project was a total home renovation of a rancher in Columbia, MD.

We had a design team to help put our vision together. The build team consisted of a project manager along with the subcontractors enlisted to bring our design to life. We had some bumps along the way but we were always able to satisfactorily resolve any issues. Our home is absolutely beautiful and I totally enjoyed the entire process. Watching our home transform step by step was amazing and I would not hesitate to use Starcom again. I would recommend Starcom for any home renovation.
