Established in 1825, the Berlin Police Department is administered by the City of Berlin in New Hampshire. The department provides community-oriented law enforcement services for the protection of life and property. It employs more than 30 full- and part-time officers. The Berlin Police Department s patrol division is responsible for the identification of criminal activities and investigations of charges lesser than felonies. The department also coordinates a drug abuse resistance education program. Its communication division responds to emergency, nonemergency and 911 calls. The Berlin Police Department additionally operates a emergency response team that specializes in handling incidents that would put officers and public life in jeopardy.
