        The Maryland Public Service Commission, also known as PCS, has been operational since 1910. It regulates public utilities and passenger transportation companies in Maryland. The commission focuses on gas, electric, telephone, water and sewage disposal companies. It inspects equipment, audits financial records and handles consumer complaints.
